You may remember this post where I asked for your opinion on green smoothies. I got a lot of good feedback from everyone saying the smoothies actually don't taste "green" and they're pretty tasty.
I should let you know that we only made about 3 or 4 smoothies. After my initial post on green smoothies, I started feeling nauseous all the time from morning sickness and all food just disgusted me. Now that I'm coming out of the first trimester and feeling better, I want to make some more smoothies and try out all the recipes you suggested!
This was the first green smoothie we made. It definitely was not the best, but it's trial and error I guess!
Ingredients:
spinach
frozen strawberries
frozen peaches
ice
water
I think this is where I went wrong: too much spinach, too much ice and water, not enough fruit
The end result did taste a little green and was real watery. I'm excited for Spring and Summer so we can start getting some fresh fruit that actually tastes good for these smoothies!
Our second round with the smoothies was better...possibly because Will was the one who made it. We also used vanilla almond milk instead of water and that helped A LOT. Like I said, I didn't drink much of it because of feeling so sick, but I'm looking forward to making more now that I've gotten my appetite and some energy back!
I still haven't tried this... haha but you are motivating me! I may have to just throw some things in the blender and hope for the best!
ReplyDeletePS. Glad to hear you're starting to feel better!!
Glad you are feeling better!! Can't say those smoothies look appetizing, but I'm sure they taste better than they look!!
ReplyDeleteMy dad makes green smoothies and I must admit, I tasted one and it was digusting. Not sure I'll ever convince myself to try again! Not sure the green movement with liquified veggies is for me. More power to you!
ReplyDeleteGross. I don't think you'll be able to convince me on these...... :)

Green smoothies are definitely trial & error. If you want a little more bang with a little less, I recommend using kale. Kale is jampacked superfood and you can put a little less than spinach to get the same effect. I think the almond milk is good idea! I hear celery is a GREAT complement with fruits for smoothies. :) I haven't made a green smoothie in awhile, though, so I can't personally attest to the celery addition, but I do hear it's a great complement. :) I hope you are feeling okay!! xo
ReplyDeleteGreen smoothies can be delicious! I use bananas, strawberries, almond milk, blueberries and spinach or kale. No ice or water.

ReplyDeleteI was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
