crew's newborn photos | 2

Crew's first outing was for the second part of his newborn photos. He was 8 days old and even though I was still pretty sore from giving birth, it was so nice for our little family to get out of the house for some fresh air!

How time flies!

Weekend Recap - Disc Golf and Snakes

I should have known our weekend was going to be great when it started out with Chinese Sub Shop for Saturday lunch. If you live in Memphis and have never been here, then you are missing out! We hadn't been in so long so it was extra good!

We came home from lunch and Will cut the grass...our weed eater is broken so he suggested we use this. Don't worry, I didn't let him.

I don't know what's more concerning in this picture: Finding a robin's egg in the front yard or how dry Will's hands are! His response: Those are "man hands."

As usual, Remi kept watch over the neighborhood.

Ginger and I relaxed in the sunshine while Will cut the grass.

Saturday afternoon we went out to The Grove with some friends to play (my first and probably last round of) disc golf. I was terrible...and by about hole 9 or 10, I was over it. I don't know if being pregnant made me so tired or if I'm just out of shape! It was a lot of walking! But, the guys were enjoying it so we finished the course. I went from being Will's teammate to his caddy because my arm had gotten so tired from throwing!

Hole 16: Trying to recover a frisbee and came across Mr. Snake. I'm outta here. (and no, I was NOT the one taking this picture!)

We got done with disc golf, went home and got cleaned up and then walked over to High Point Pizza for some dinner. HPP is probably my favorite pizza place in Memphis. (If we had a California Pizza Kitchen here that would be a different story though.)

After church on Sunday we went to our friends Mark and Morgan's new house to grill out some lunch. Mark and Will think they came up with the greatest way to grill corn. I won't share their secret.

This picture cracks me up. Ginger is not going to be too happy when Baby K arrives!

We went to small group last night and ended the night with friends at the Happy Mexican. I was (and still am) so exhausted from all our weekend festivities, but I'm so glad we had such beautiful weather and friends to spend it with. Now if I could just get in a mid-morning nap that would be great!

I'll end with another story about crazy crying pregnancy hormones:
Last night we got in bed to finish watching Argo. I was cold so I cuddled up next to Will and in the process accidentally scratched him. He yelled "Ouch!" and I just started boo-hooing. I could not stop crying!! I kept apologizing for scratching him and continued to cry for about 5 minutes. It wasn't quiet sobbing either. Poor, poor Will. He finally got me calmed down and we finished watching the movie like nothing ever happened. Good grief.

Weekend Recap: Spring Fever

I actually took pictures this weekend! That' something new.
Friday after work, the weather was SO nice (as it was all weekend). Now that I'm in the second trimester and feeling better, I decided it's time to start getting some more exercise. We took the dogs on a pretty long walk and poor Ginger was worn out! Her short legs can't make it as far as Remi's. (And yes Mom, I did pick her up and carry her some of the way!)

Remi being our Neighborhood Watch on Saturday morning

Ginger recovered by Saturday morning and was soakin' up some rays

My BABY brother had prom on Saturday night. I still don't think it's possible that he's old enough to be going to prom! Colin and his girlfriend looked so great in their hot pink!

These next two pictures sum up our Saturday night. We hung out with some of our closest friends. The guys invented their own version of STING PONG years ago that involves 4 players running around the ping pong table. When you mess up, you get a letter that eventually spells STING. Once that happens, everyone gets a chance to hit the ping pong ball at your bare chest/stomach. You can see why us girls don't play this game. We even got to see Kelly and John Saturday night!...and convinced John to join in on the Sting Pong game because they needed an extra player.

On Sunday, my morning-loving husband got up early and made us some muffins for breakfast.

I wanted to use this picture as proof that my baby belly pretty much doubles in size after meals! After church we went to lunch with Tyler and Amanda. I think I've mentioned this before, but we can always count on them to go eat Mexican with us!

We went out to The Grove on Sunday afternoon because I wanted to walk around the lake. You would have thought Ginger had never been outside. She went crazy. The photo below was after she bravely chased some geese into the lake and proceeded to swim after them. She's not even a good swimmer!

Since Remi pays 0 attention to us outside in big, open spaces, we don't trust him off-leash. We made do with a super long rope for him. He loved it.

Since the dogs both swam in the lake they were filthy and both had to get baths last night. Remi hates the anticipation of a bath, but is so well-behaved once he's in there.

And that was our busy weekend! As you can tell, we all enjoyed the Spring weather and sunshine! Hope your weekend was just as great!

Puddle Jumping

It's actually more like LAKE jumping in this case. The dogs and I were bored this afternoon after getting dinner cooked and laundry done. We decided to go out to The Grove to walk around the lake. My dad is the Director of Operations out there and Will also works there part-time so I always have a good excuse to go! It is such a beautiful camp and happens to be where our wedding reception was.

We walked around the lake, the dogs swam some and I hung out with Dad & Will a little bit. The Grove is in the process of building two awesome water slides. I cannot wait to ride them!

This is the view from the tower where the two slides will come from! Much bigger than I had imagined.
Me and Ginger & Remi were walking along the left side of the water hole is by those tall poles when Ginger got the surprise of her life.

From her perspective she just saw these boards and I guess assumed that there would be something like a deck to walk on once she jumped up on it... Well she jumped, and then went straight down to the water. Ginger is a small dog, with stubby legs so her swimming skills aren't excellent. Once I stopped panicking and got her out of the water it was really quite funny. It just reminded me of Wile E Coyote running off a cliff where he just kind of freezes for a second....and then falls straight down.

Once I got Ginger out of the water, she started rolling around in the dirt and mud to dry off. It was disgusting! She didn't even look like herself! Ginger provided us with some comic relief today and I'm glad I snapped some quick pics of Ginger as a brunette!

She's camouflage!

My dad trying to get some of the dirt off

This picture cracks me up. Dad was driving me back to the car in his work truck. Dirty dogs have to ride in the back!

It's almost Friday! Enjoy your weekend!
