kermit the frog

We loved dressing up Crew for his first Halloween. I had been thinking about what costume for him to wear since before he was born, but didn't actually decide until about a week before Halloween. We went with a DIY costume...much better than spending $30 on something he'd wear once!

Materials: onesie, Rit dye, felt, pom pom balls, knit hat, something for leg warmers (or pants)

I mixed some Rit dye together (Kelly Green & Yellow) for the onesie. It was hard to get the color I wanted with a little trial and error, but it turned out ok! I also dyed some (adult size) tube socks to cut and use for his leg warmers, but they didn't hold the color for some reason. I ended up dying another onesie and cutting the sleeves off for "leg warmers." It was the best I could do last minute! I had also bought a pack of knit hats off of Amazon so I could dye the white one, but it also came with a lime green hat so we just used that instead. I hot glued the green pom poms to the top of his hat for the eyes and then drew eyes on white fabric to glue onto the pom poms. With the felt I cut out the Kermit collar and also little froggy hands and feet that were glued to his sleeves and socks. It turned out so cute and we had the cutest Kermie ever!

I'm probably going to hear about it for posting this pic, but I had to! We went to Trunk or Treat where my dad's work had a Duck Dynasty booth. Crew didn't recognize Lolly & Poppy!

A few days before Halloween we took Crew to a pumpkin patch for a few photos...

Such a different Halloween from last year, but it was so much better! When we dressed up as the Sundrop couple last year, I would have never imagined that we would have a four week old a year later!

Sundrop Soulmates

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Last night we went to ICC's Fall Fest on the island. I helped with face painting. There were moon bounces, games and lots of food! We love our church and our community. We had a blast!

Shrek, Bert from Mary Poppins and a Harlem Globetrotter

That's some serious face painting!
Robby's sweet new puppy, Roman- a Great Dane

This is everyone in our Couples Group that meets on Sunday nights
We love them!
Ken and Morgan

Sundrop guy and Bert

After all the kids left we had races through the obstacle course! Fun!

Hope everyone had a fun, safe night last night! I've loved seeing all the costumes!
And in case you've never seen the Sundrop soulmates video....

Fact Is...

It's my first "Fact Is" link-up with Nicholl @ Chiffon Diary! So while you're here, stay and take a look around and follow me. I'm new to the blogging world and have loved meeting other bloggers so far!

Fact: I'm becoming obsessed with Amazon. First of all, who doesn't love free two-day shipping?! And second, I JUST found out that Amazon Prime has free instant movies and TV. Whaaaaaat. Who needs Netflix!? We are pretty excited.

Fact: I had the chance to go to the Target House last night to decorate Halloween cookies, trick-or-treat bags and Halloween masks. It was so much fun spending time with those sweet kids. It was definitely a reminder of how often I tend to take my health for granted. If you don't know what the Target House is, check it out here. It's a pretty amazing place for patients of St. Jude. If their treatment is longer than 3 months, then the Target House is where the family can stay while they are in Memphis.

Fact: My house needs some serious deep cleaning...but I tend to make excuses for not doing it every day after work. One of these days, it'll happen.

Fact: I wish my Pinterest style board would match my actual closet.

Fact: I feel so accomplished for convincing my boss to get rid of his AOL email account.

Fact: I discovered a new nail painting trick that changed my life. It works. Try it.

Fact: I asked my hubs to help me think of "facts" about myself because it's Tuesday and my brain has not been in thinking mode at all. He emailed me a list of facts I should write about myself. They made me smile.

I have the best husband ever :))

I am an expert on Mexican food...and Las Delicias has the best chips in the world!!

I love washing clothes...I hate drying them

I am in search of a perfect pair of boots. Perhaps a life-long process

Amazon prime has tv!!!! What a great discovery!

I have a big big heart! Sweet little kids make me teary eyed and that makes me the sweetest person in the world

I have a work cell phone! That makes me officially a grown up! That's a weird thing to say!

I love Saturday mornings! Sleep and family time are the best things ever!!

I can't wait for the election to be over! All this campaign stuff is getting annoying--I'm over it ;)

I love the waders my husband bought for me! And I love to fish!! Woohoo!

It's just funny how he tried to write how I would actually say it. "Perhaps a life-long process." or "I'm over it."
I'm not too sure about that last one...yes, he did buy me fishing waders as a surprise. And yes, I think he was way more excited about that than I was.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Comment below! I'd love to read your facts!
