weekend without 'dada'

Will went on a belated birthday camping trip this past weekend with his dad, my dad, and my two brothers. They camped at the Buffalo River in AR and seemed to have a lot of fun! That left Crew and I with a reason to spend the weekend with my mom. It's Monday afternoon now and I am STILL feeling worn out from chasing that little munchkin around all weekend! Whew! And 32 lbs is seeming heavier and heavier to pick up each week that my pregnancy goes by! Crew is definitely my "workout" routine this pregnancy.

This is his favorite selfie face to make. Ask Crew "where's your nose?" and this is the face you get.

We went to the Spring Market on Friday and found Crew's adorrrrrable Easter outfit, went to dinner with the girls (Nana, Kathy, Brit) on Friday night, breakfast with Nana Saturday morning, and to my parents' church on Sunday morning. Crew thinks that he owns the place when we're at our church each week, and apparently he thinks the same thing about any church. He was a wild man running all over the place and I was worn. out. when we left there!

Crew's new best friend is my parents' cat. He laid his head down next to Milk Dud and just kept saying "niii niii" (night night). The sweetest!

I was able to get a lot of work done this weekend on my calligraphy orders thanks to my mom entertaining Crew. He had fun with Lolly!

And it looks like Will had a fun weekend like we did!

my new shop: crew + co

I haven't shared much about the new shop I just opened last month! It involves hand lettering and kids...what could be better?! I've created hand lettered designs and am selling the cutest little kid's tees on Etsy. This Spring line has 6 different designs and I'm already working on some fun new ones for the Summer. Be sure to snag one up for your little one here!

the things I want to remember

I don't want to forget these seemingly small things about Crew and the stage he's in right now. I could just eat him up!

I want to remember:
These fat hands with dimpled knuckles

This sweet cuddle session that never happens. Thank you, Dinosaur Train!

These little piggies

This big laugh

His first fat lip. He kissed the floor a little too hard that day.

This style

His book obsession. He understands that everything has a name and so he want to know every single one.

The way he scrunches up his face when you ask where his nose is. And he loves to be asked where his tongue is as a reason to stick it out!

sunday funday

It's official. The dog park is Crew's favorite place on earth. Crew is a dog-lover to the core so I'm not surprised he had so much fun yesterday at Shelby Farms. The weather was absolutely beautiful in the 70's, Crew was finally feeling better after his cold last week, and we were all ready to get out of the house and enjoy the sunshine. Especially the dogs!

This was Crew's first time to the dog park since he's been able to walk so I know we'll be coming here much more often this Spring and Summer!

He had to sit on the picnic table like a big boy just like his daddy. His cuteness just kills me!

After we got home and Crew had a short one-hour nap, we went back outside and played with chalk for the first time. He was more interested in biting off all the tips of the chalk rather than actually drawing with it, but we'll try again next time! He had a multi-colored mouth by the time we were done.

14-26 week bumpdate, 2nd trimester recap: baby #2

How am I already entering the third trimester?! I've done terrible with documenting everything from this pregnancy. I also think that I just didn't have as much to document because I was either too busy with Crew to notice or I had already experienced so many of the "pregnancy symptoms" and just didn't think much of them. Either way, here are the things I do remember about the last 10+ weeks!

We found out the gender on December 23rd and had our gender reveal on the 24th! I was almost 16 weeks at that point. The ultrasound tech at the doctor tried to determine the gender at my 15 week appointment, but baby boy had his legs crossed and was sleeping so that didn't work. This wasn't a scheduled ultrasound, but I had convinced my doctor to let me try since we had all our family in town and it would be "the perfect time for a reveal!" Once I found out it was possible to know the gender at 15 weeks, I just had to find out in time for a Christmas surprise. I found a Groupon for a local ultrasound place and they were the ones who determined it was a boy! Of course, we have made sure to confirm at our doctor's office also!

The heartburn! Oh, the heartburn! I didn't have heartburn with Crew until much, much later in the pregnancy so that's one thing that is different. Tums are my best friend at this point. They seem to work pretty well especially if I take some at the first signs so I haven't felt the need to try any other medication...yet.

The other major thing that has been different this time is the extreme soreness and pain in my pelvic region. Again, I didn't feel like this until at least 33 weeks with Crew and it's been going on this time since around 21-22 weeks and is just getting worse. It started out as just an a.m. nuisance when I got up in the morning, but now it's pretty constant and pretty much whenever I move. Hot showers seem to help (aka my answer to any ailment), but I haven't found much relief past that.

I got a terrible rash all over my belly at about 23 weeks and it was so itchy. I kept it lathered in Aquaphor most of the time and took Benadryl at night so I wasn't up all night scratching. I vaguely remember this same thing happening when I was pregnant with Crew, but I have no idea why it did. Luckily I only had it for about 2 weeks and my belly is back to "normal!"

This was at 24 weeks

There hasn't been too much more that has been going on lately. It is getting a little more difficult to pick up my 32-pounder so we'll see how that goes the rest of the pregnancy. I told Will that we're going to have to get a step stool for Crew to get in and out of his crib when I'm the only one home! He's a chunk!

There's a baby boom going on with our closest friends at church and I love it! One sweet baby has been born since this photo and the twins will be here any day now! So excited for my friends!

because this never happens

It must be documented. I can't remember the last time Crew fell asleep in the car seat. I feel like it was on our drive to South Carolina when he was 10 months old...and that was only after 8+ hours in the car! This time, it happened twice in one week! What is going on?!

snow days 2015

I'm really hoping that I don't have another post titled "snow days 2015...part 2." I am ready and waiting for some warmer weather! Memphis has had a few ice/snow days in the last few weeks and these are just a few pictures from then!

Crew's first snow day last year and then this year

This was on the day we left for our anniversary trip. Crew was a little sick at this point and I just don't think he was feeling it!

five years of marriage

Ok, ok, ok... I've been reading old posts on the blog and realizing that I miss it, mainly for the documenting big and small events that would otherwise be forgotten. (especially with Crew!) I want to try and make time to document things again so I won't regret not doing it down the road!

One of those "big" events was our FIVE year wedding anniversary we just celebrated on March 6th. I just can't believe it's been five years already. Doesn't seem possible! Will surprised me on the 5th and told me we were taking a weekend vacation. He had already made plans and arranged for Crew to spend the weekend with my parents. I'll be honest, I was excited...but I was instantaneously feeling anxious about leaving Crew. One, because it would be the longest that I had been away from him before and two, because I've been feeling guilt over having our parents watch him on weekends when that's usually the only time we get each week to spend time as a family. They have all been so great to watch Crew when we are needing to work on weekends for things for Accrewed Design or Crew + Co

I packed a last minute bag and off we went to Fairhope, AL. I just love Fairhope and it's small-town life. Will had never been before so it was perfect for the two of us to explore together. I realized just how much we needed some one on one time to focus on each other. It was so refreshing and we need to make more of a point to do that more often. So much of the time we are focused on Crew and what his needs are that we forget to focus on us and what are needs are as husband and wife.

We spent most of the time eating...and then eating some more. We explored little antique shops, one of our favorite things to do together! We went down to Gulf Shores for the day. Unfortunately it was in the 50's and SO windy that morning so we didn't stay long, but it was still so fun.

I'm so thankful for my sweet husband and the effort he put into making this a fun and memorable anniversary! I can't wait for the many more to come!

This breakfast was SO GOOD. The french toast satisfied my pregnancy sweet tooth just as I hoped!

Will's oyster request for dinner... I stuck with the pasta

Again, my sweet tooth. To my defense, I ONLY have a sweet tooth when I'm pregnant! Will got blueberry cheesecake and banana pudding and I (of course) got cotton candy.
Old Dutch Ice Cream in Mobile

Of course, the day we left Crew woke up with a cough. That turned into a cold and I just knew it had something to do with him cutting teeth. He cut his 3rd molar over the weekend and it just made him miserable. Every. Single. Time. he gets a new tooth, he gets some sort of cold. Without fail. This time it was accompanied by fever on Friday and Saturday which is something that hasn't happened before. Luckily he was very well taken care of while we were gone, but I was so glad to get back to him! You can tell how unlike himself he looks in this photo from Sunday with his watery eyes, flushed cheeks and runny nose! I hate seeing him feel bad! Tooth #11 was a pesky one!

This just HAD to be documented. We got home Sunday afternoon and it was time for Crew to nap. He woke up about an hour later and Will went to get him out of bed. When he didn't come back after several minutes I looked on the monitor and saw this. Oh, you better believe it brought tears! (Blame it on the hormones!) Crew hasn't let us rock him in months and months so I know he didn't feel good for this to be happening. I'll admit, I was a little jealous of Will!...ok, a lot jealous!

1st anniversary: Savannah, GA (see photos in 3rd ann. post)
2nd anniversary: Savannah, GA (see photos in 3rd ann. post)
4th anniversary: Weekend in Nashville with Crew (not blogged...see what I'm saying about doumenting?!)

gender reveal number two

I totally forgot to post our gender reveal video from baby #2 on Christmas Eve with our families! I want to be sure it's documented on the blog!
